Xijen College Online
Welcome to the Xijen College Online Program. Courses in the Online College Program are delivered in Distance Education (DE) primarily using the Internet. Students enrolled in the program must have access to a computer with Internet connection. A visit to an Internet café will be your lowest cost alternative to access your lessons online.
Program Requirements:
- A. E-mail address-you need an email address to enroll in the online courses.
You can use your existing email address or you can opt to register for the free email service of Xijen (powered by Google). If you already have an e-mail address you can proceed directly to section B. To register for an email address at Xijen:
Text your preferred username to tech support at 0920 903 1948.
- Wait for confirmation of your username and password.
- Start your Internet browser (ie, Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera) and log on to www.xijen.com/elearning
- Click on Quick Link to Xijen G-Mail, this is found on the topmost box on the site’s front page. (see illustration). You can also access your email portal directly at https://www.google.com/a/xijen
4. This is now your email portal:
- Enter your username and password.
- Change your given password.
Here’s how to change your password:
- Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page, and open the Accounts tab.
- Click Google Account settings.
- In the new window, click Change password under the Personal information option.
- Enter your current password and your new password.
- Make sure you create a unique password to help keep someone from breaking in to your account. Here are a few tips for creating your password, and keeping it safe:
- Never tell anyone your password.
- Never write down your password. Even though your password will look random to others, think of a way to remember it so that you don’t have to write it down.
- Change your password periodically.
- Don’t choose a dictionary word as your password. Be creative.
- Include punctuation marks. Mix capital and lowercase letters. Use numbers. A variety of characters makes it harder to guess a password.
B. ENROLL IN YOUR COURSE
Aside from enrolling in an online course, we have to formally enroll in our online learning portal. To do this:
- Log on to www.xijen.com/elearning and click on Login (found at the top corner, right side)
- Click on the Create New Account Button
- This is how your account enrollment page will look like, fill in the information required
- Follow the instructions provided and log on to your email account, confirm your registration.
- You will be brought to the xijen.com/elearning portal.
- Click on log-in, enter your username and password
- Scroll down to My Courses
- Look for your enrolled course (ex. Entrepreneurship, Certificate Course: Staring and Managing a Small Enterprise
- Enter your enrollment Key (supplied via a call or text message from 0920 903 1948
- You can now access your lessons.
- If you have a problem in enrollment please contact 0920 903 1948.
- C. Supplemental Materials
Supplemental materials in hard copy format are provided. For those who opt to return the materials after the course, you can make a deposit. The deposit made shall be refunded upon return of the materials.
Other supplemental materials (pop sheets) shall be separately charged at two pesos a copy. Billing shall be provided at the end of the course.
