Xijen Computer Lab ( Year 2000)

Information Technology is a strength of Xijen College.  The school is a staunch promoter of computer literacy in Mountain Province.  The courses offered include:

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BS I.T. 4 Years); students enrolled in this course may opt to take the first 2 years of this program and graduate as Computer Hardware Servicing Technician.  Then one can continue studies for 2 more years to graduate BS Information Technology.

• Computer Hardware Service Technician,  (2 Years) The course veers away from the government recommended training time of 320 hours.  Xijen has improved on the recommended curriculum to make it a full 2 years course.  Experience teaches that a high school graduate is not able to compete in the job if one opts for the short program of 320 hours.

• Other Short Information Technology Courses (Groups or Individual tutorial/workshop)

1. Web Page Development Design- using any of the Content Management System platforms such as WordPress or Joomla.  Trainees may also opt for Google Sites.  Xijen College can also do your company, organization or business website from design to arrangements for hosting with hostingphil.com
2. E-Commerce- students of the e-commerce course will learn the fundamentals of creating an online store, explore ways to accept payments and delivery of products to the buyer (what works and what does not-in a particular area); security concerns and topics on using  the social network to market products
3. Computerized Accounting- learn to keep track of your finances whether personal or business with a computerized accounting system; as your business grows, keeping track of your business deals shall go beyond the traditional bookkeeping, a computerized accounting system provides up to date information about the status of your business and help you make better business decisions.
4. Point of Sales System Training and Installation- if you are in the retail trade, restaurant and other businesses, Xijen College provides training up to the installation of a Point of Sale system to keep track of your inventory and sales.  Now you don’t have to personally run your business’s cash register.  You have more time left to think of ways to enhance your business.
5. Online Learning System- an ideal system for teachers and school administrators who want to explore the benefits of setting up an online learning system using available non proprietary platforms.  Xijen has long years of experience in implementing a school managed online learning system.
6. Hairdressing School- the course is an industry led program the main objective of which is to enable graduates to set up their own salons.  The following are the courses under the tutelage of hairdressing veteran and salon owner, Herman P. Malafu:

 Center for Entrepreneurship Development

• BS Entrepreneurship (4 Years).  From our elementary to high school years, our system of education is focused more on training us to be employees and less on becoming employers.  The BS Entrepreneurship program gives an opportunity to train as an entrepreneur.  Xijen College believes that entrepreneurship can be taught and learnt.  Xijen College has enhanced the curriculum to highlight creativity, capacity to spot opportunities and provide applicable classroom and actual business management exposure.  The faculty is composed of practicing entrepreneurs.  Some have MBAs and related industry exposure, still others have international training experience in India and Japan.
• Computer Secretarial with Bookkeeping (2 Years)

The secretarial course trains students in bookkeeping with added courses on stenography, computer operations and other subjects.  Students of the course can find work in law offices, business establishments or continue to the BS Entrepreneurship course.

Short Programs and Services on Entrepreneurial Development

The entrepreneurship development center provides workshops for small business owners, cooperatives, self-help groups, banks and other organizations interested in implementing a livelihood program.  Our training programs include:

1. Starting and Managing a Small Business
2. Bookkeeping for Non Accountants
3. Productivity Enhancement- (banking on the principles of ISO (International Organization Standards)
4. Entrepreneurial Development Training
5. Packaging Design with Bar Code Symbology

Teacher Education

• BS Secondary Education- Major in Filipino (4 years)

Filipino is the official language of the Philippines aside from English.  Xijen College is proud to promote the language program.  Teachers who want to take the course as a second major are welcome.  Students who want to build a career in teaching Filipino are also most welcome.  Teachers with Filipino as specialization are in demand in high schools across the nation.  With the dearth of students flocking to other fields, there is not much to worry in terms of employment for teachers with Filipino as a specialization.  Join the class of Dr. Edarlina A. Fakat as she shares a rich experience-punctuated with humor and lots of fun in learning the course.

English Proficiency Language Program

• Call Center Training (1 month)

The Call Center Training Program is designed to help train those interested to work in a call center but are in need of a little polishing on their computer and communication skills.  Our graduates are now working in various call centers such as Sitel.

• Kindergarten
  Xijen College offers Nursery, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2.  Our students are doing good in mainstream elementary education.  Our Kindergarten program is registered with the Department of Education.
